OpenSuse 10.1 remastered

C'est simplement pour vous dire que ceux qui auraient téléchargé Suse Linux aka OpenSuse 10.1 il y a quelques temps devraient retourné sur OpenSuse.org et lire la note dans la section Download.

En somme, il y est mentionné que OpenSuse a été remasterisé car il y avait trop de problèmes avec l'application de mise à jour empêchant de les télécharger, sans compter quelques bogues avec la gestion des packages. Donc si votre installation va bien au niveau mise à jour, pas de problème. Pour les autres, vous pouvez installer la nouvelle version qui compte tous les patches et qui règlent bien des petits bobos.

Pour ma part, j'ai téléchargé le DVD, il ne me reste plus qu'à le graver au bureau ou chez mes parents. Mais mes fonctions de mise à jour fonctionnent bien, alors je ne réinstalle pas pour le moment, ce n'est qu'en cas de besoin.

NB : Since Oct 13, The SUSE Team have remastered the SUSE Linux 10.1 ISO images.

This new release combines the 10.1 GM and all online updates that we have released for 10.1 so far (until Oct 9), including libzypp, which should make the installing and working experience much smoother for everyone.

[NB: Do the following only if you have downloaded the ISOs before Oct, 13]

The package manager in SUSE 10.1 is regrettably broken on most systems. To correct this you should do the following after you have installed SUSE:

* Open Yast chose "online update configuration" , click next and wait until finished.
* Press the updater icon on you taskbar/panel
* If it updates, congratulations, all is well.
* If it throws up an error. Close it.
* Follow the instructions in this SDB article or this mail.
